Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 8:14: “then your heart will become proud and you will forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery”.
In the books of Moses, we read of the many wonderful things God does for the Israelites just to set them free and relocate them to the promised land. He inflicted the Egyptians with many plagues, parted the Red Sea for them, fed them manna and quill and so on. But still the people of Israel rebelled against God.
It is very easy to forget those who do good to you rather than those who do evil against you. In our “completeness” we tend to be proud and self reliant. That is what the Israelites did. After all God did for them, they still went contrary to His commands.
Today the word of God is reminding us to never forget where God has brought us from, how much He’s blessed us; good jobs, beautiful families, good health, peace of mind etc. Always give thanks and praise to God for all He’s done for you.
Prayer for today: Father I thank You for all You do for me. I may not deserve it, but You love me all the same. I’m truly grateful to You, in Jesus name I pray, Amen
