Pray for me

I believe a healthy way of eating is to take time to masticate slowly each piece of food in the mouth, covering it with enough saliva to facilitate quick assimilation and digestion in the stomach. I believe we can apply the same principle to spiritual food as well. Therefore, after the long session we had on the Fatherhood of God, I am pausing so you can digest and assimilate that teaching in the “bowel” of your spirit.

While waiting, I want to make a request : pray for me.

Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 6 taught us the spiritual weapons the Lord has given to the Church to use in fighting against “evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, mighty powers in this dark world, and evil spirits in the heavenly places”. I believe the last piece in our spiritual weapon is prayer. About that, he apostle wrote:

“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere” (Ephesians 6:18 NLTSE).

As if it was not sufficient asking “for prayers for all believers everywhere” (which would include himself), Apostle Paul went on to specifically request for prayers for himself. This is his prayer request in Ephesians 6:19:

“And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike”.

Today, I want to copy Apostle Paul. I believe you pray for all believers and even unbelievers everywhere. That is good. God bless you.

Pray special prayers for me too.

You know I took an early retirement from Pastoral ministry in Calvary Baptist Church, Accra last year January. I described my move “stepping aside to do more”. I believe giving up my assignment as the pastor in charge of youth and teens would free me to devote my time and energy to a new ministry to teach the word of God everywhere especially in our small towns. What you have been receiving as Kingdom Truth For Today is just a small component of the Kingdom Truth Teaching Ministry vision.

One year has passed since January 2017. I believe it is time to step up the ministry. That is why I am asking you to pray for me. Somehow, I see that my reason for your prayers is the same as Apostle Paul’s reason for his prayer request. He wrote:

“Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike”.

That is exactly why I need your prayers. I also need right words so I can boldly teach and explain Kingdom truths.

But in II Thessalonians 3:1-2, Apostle Paul made another prayer request, this time for him and his team. He wrote

“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.”

There you see another reason why you must continue to pray for me. I like the last 6 words – “for all men have not faith”. That is KJV English for you. The NLTSe says “for not everyone is a believer”

As you may remember, I have 3 thematic prayer points which I have coined into the word “HAW”.

H = Health. Thank God with me for good health and pray that I will go from strength to strength.

A = Anointing. Thank God for his grace on my life and pray that I will be able to minister at a new and higher dimension of anointing.

W = Wealth. Thank God for the financial and material blessings my family and I are enjoying. Pray that the Lord will provide every need of ours including the needs for the ministry.

I want to assure you that as you do it for me, the Lord will raise others to do it for you also. It is all from the principle of sowing and reaping. The Bible says you reap what you sow. Therefore your praying for me is precious seed you are sowing and you will reap a great harvest. Amen.

Your best is yet to come
