Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 5:21 KJV
“Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”
One of the greatest tragedies in life is being wise in your own eyes outside of the understanding and wisdom of God; beyond the point of rebuke and correction!
Some people are so wise in their own eyes that nothing that anybody else does is good enough, they measure other people’s performance by their standards and are quick to discount, dispel and discourage the effort put in by other people!
They quickly get offended in their heart and mind when someone else’s idea or opinion is upheld because they perceive theirs to be the best. Unto such people, the word of the Lord today is Woe!
You and I must come to the point of understanding that it is God who gives us wisdom to function in various capacities, we do not produce it on our own therefore we must give him the glory and acknowledge that just as he has given to us, he has also given to other people!
We must be humble enough to accept counsel, advice or rebuke from other people when we go wrong or miss the point. Our inability to accept that you are vulnerable to mistakes is the first light of indication that we are wise in our own eyes; repent and give God the glory.
Prayer for Today : Father, I thank you for your word today, I lay aside every pride and wisdom in my own eyes to give you glory in Jesus name, Amen
